Connecting from Windows

Connecting to the machine occurs through the Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP). To start work with the server run the Remote Desktop Connection application on your local machine. The application shortcut (Picture 1) is located in the Start menu. The name of the program group where the shortcut is located depends on the version of your operating system.

There is more alternative and faster way to start Remote Desktop Connection. This method is suitable for all Windows family operating systems. Follow these steps:

  1. Open File Explorer.
  2. Type mstsc in the address bar and press Enter.

Then the Remote Desktop Connection application will be opened. Press the Show Options button (Picture 2).

Enter the server IPv4-address and login (Picture 3).

Its server IPv4-address, login and password are stored in your personal area. In addition, this information you can find in the notification about the server readiness at your email.

To exchange files with a remote server, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the tab Local Resources.
  2. Press the button More (Picture 4).
  3. Select the local drives that you want to see in the remote machine File Explorer.

To save the connection to the server and do not enter data each time, follow these steps:

  1. Check option Allow me to save credentials.
  2. Press the button Save As and select the path to save connection shortcut.

After the first successful connection to the remote server, the login and password will be saved in the Windows registry of local machine. Press the button Connect. In the appeared window enter password.
